So, if the miracle of Christmas doesn't evoke worship in us, then perhaps the message of it has been lost in the abundance of our stuff. Somewhere in the epoch of a babe in the manger is the truth of the preeminent Christ, the creator of all there is, the one who rules over all things. Our comfort with the simple crudeness of the stable often distracts us from the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. When He identified with us by becoming human, we struggle to identify with His Majestic Glory.
He calls us to worship. Reflect over this.
He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation; because by Him everything was created, in heaven and on earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities---all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and by Him all things hold together. He is also the head of the body, the church; He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He might come to have first place in everything. For God was pleased to have all His fullness dwell in Him; and through Him to reconcile everything in Himself by making peace through the blood of His cross---whether things on earth or things in heaven.
Colossians 1:15-20
Worship Him. Tomorrow is the Sunday after Christmas and before the New Year. You can end well and start well by being with a local church family in corporate worship.
"...and falling on their knees, they worshiped Him" (Matthew 2:11).
